Good things come in small packages

The small packages I am referring to are the absolutely delightful children that were part of my maiden voyage this fall of doing something I've always wanted to do- teach art to children!  I was an Art Education and Design major in college (somewhere along the way I got side-tracked).

I have been fortunate enough to get the chance to teach art at a wonderful children's art studio in town.  Nestled on the edge of downtown Raleigh, along the train tracks (always exciting when one rolls by!) Wild at Art Kids offers dance, children's yoga, sports classes and various art classes for children of all ages.  I've been teaching an after school class to 5-8 years olds and we have had a blast learning about colors, famous artists, new techniques, making gigantic messes and most importantly having fun by being creative!  I hope this is only the beginning and that I can continue to help children explore art.

It has been so rewarding to share my love of art with these great kids!

Here are some of the artists hard at work:

I am looking forward to my upcoming sessions- a Christmas gift class and then one at the first of the year with a focus on color, painting and drawing!  Stay tuned...

Yes I do...

After spending days on end with a four year old and a one year old this summer, it's felt great to get back to doing what I enjoy outside of being Super Woman (capable of everything at a moment's notice or so my children think...) and have just completed my largest wedding yet.  The invitations have been mailed so the bride and groom are one step closer to their big day- such an exciting time!  I especially love the stamps that are available this season-

The cherry on top...

And for the reply cards- love these!
