There are folks out there who put a lot of thought into the gifts they give. It is the thought that counts, right?!? I would like to think that my sister is the best gift giver in the world...
Out of the blue, almost a year after addressing invitations for a couple's wedding, the husband found my information (I had only been in contact with the bride throughout the process) and asked if I would help him with a special gift for their first anniversary. He had written a letter to his bride that he read to her during their wedding festivities and asked if I could replicate it to be matted and framed. What an amazing, thoughtful gift- especially due to the fact that the traditional gift for the first anniversary is paper (major bonus points!!!). I, of course, said I'd be honored and asked him to send me the letter. He sent it to me and it was so sweet and personal recounting how they met, how they grew close as a couple and eventually took them to the walk down the aisle- and it was over 500 words! That does not seem like a lot until you are trying to create something that is a practical size to the matted and framed that doesn't take up a whole wall.
I must admit, after careful measuring, etc, the final result turned out well and the groom was beyond happy. I'm sure his bride was blown away at the sweet gesture! Just goes to show you that sometimes, it's the personal touches that make all the difference.
While, it's hard to really see the detail, you can get the idea...
