Preschool Art Fun

I cannot believe it has taken me so long to post.  I have been fortunate enough to spend more and more time teaching art and I never fail to be amazed by all of my artists- even the youngest!  We spend time on the "process" to give them the chance to explore new materials and have FUN making art!

 DECORATIVE PAPER COLLAGE ANIMALS:

One of my favorite books I've found about being a teacher is Mrs. Spitzer's Garden that shows how a teacher is so important in helping children become who they are and hopefully making a difference in their lives by giving them important tools  to carry with them on their individual journeys!  A must read for any teacher!
It inspired me to have the four year old class create clay self portraits and each one of them are truly unique!

From the book:

Greenware faces before firing:

The kids painted canvas frames to display their portraits:
I am SO happy at how these turned out!

Soft- Pastel Leaves with the three-years olds.  Part of teaching art to children is teaching them that is it okay and FUN to get messy.
